Something Money Can't Buy

April 18, 2013

A few weeks ago I asked my Papa what was better- living back in the 50-60's or living now. The only thing he said was: back then they didn't have much money. He didn't favor one over the other- living then off of $1.25 an hour, or today retiring after working a successful job for many years.

It made me think that happiness doesn't revolve around money. Looking back at old pictures of him, my Grandma, and the rest of the family-- they looked blissfully happy with what they had; and that was each other. Life isn't all about what kind of car you drive, how big your house is, or the collection of Buckle jeans you have in your closet. Sure, those things are nice to have. But what everyday is really about is love, family, and the moments you share with the people in your life. When you're close to your last day, or when a family member is about to go.

What are you going to remember? That awesome gift you received on Christmas morning last year or spending time with your family? laughing and smiling together as you were all gathered around the Christmas tree.

Family is the most priceless and precious gift- that money could never buy. We need to always remember that.
