If you're anything like me-- you're OBSESSED with candles. They make my home smell amazing, plus give that cozy feel we all love.

But once you're finished with the candles, what do you do with them? I always felt guilty throwing away these really nice jars. Then I thought, what if I can use them for something else. That's when I started re-purposing my candle jars. Here's how I did it...
Welcome to my first DIY blog post!
1. You'll want to burn down your candle as far as you can. Then as the wax is still melted grab an oven mitt or towel to wrap around the jar and dump the wax into the trash. I also put it in a candle warmer to melt the excess wax before dumping it too, but if you don't have a candle warmer-- burning it normally is fine!
2. It's impossible to get all the wax out of the jar. So, next I fill the jar up with hot water and dish soap. I let it sit for 10 minutes, dump it out, and wipe the inside with a paper towel. I don't suggest using a wash cloth because it will get covered in black soot. Paper towel is the way to go, so you can just toss it in the trash when you're done.
3. You may have to repeat the cleaning process a few times to make sure it's squeaky clean. But once the jar is clear, dry it off, and it's good to go. See the clean jars below:

You can re-purpose these jars for many things!
Here are a few examples of what I've done with them so far.

Lip Stick Holder

Cotton Balls
I have a few more jars I plan on cleaning out for other items. I'll add those to this post once they're finished. Hope this give y'all some inspiration to re-purpose your candle jars. As you can see, they're perfect for storing items around your home!
Thanks for reading, catch ya' next time!
