Nashville Bachelorette Party

My Best Friend, Ashley is getting married! And shortly after her engagement, she asked me to be her Maid of Honor! I was so excited! By accepting the position of MOH I knew I had important duties to fulfill. One of those duties by default-- making sure she had the BEST Bachelorette party. I was up for the challenge!

(Spoiler: Mission Accomplished. Woo!)

The bachelorette party was set for Nashville, TN Music City! I knew it would be the perfect destination for Ashley to celebrate her last weekend as a single woman with her girlfriends. Nashville is a fun city-- live music literally everywhere, rooftop bars, and so many places to learn about the enriched history of this iconic city.

Ashley knew the location was Nashville, but I kept the rest of the details a surprise. Let me begin with the first step in planning a bachelorette party: Making Reservations

1. A place to lay our heads

I started looking for places to stay in Nashville that were relatively close to downtown Broadway. But I was limited on size, because I had to find a place to sleep 11 girls. After doing some research, I concluded renting an air bnb would be our best option. Luckily, I found the PERFECT house only 10 minutes from Broadway.

But before I could make the down payment, I needed to make sure all the girls were on board. I sent each girl the house and broke down the costs for them. Once I got a headcount, each girl sent me their deposit on the house. I did put a slight rush on their payments because we were going Memorial Day weekend and the houses were booking up fast. Thank goodness we sent our down payment that evening and secured the house. It's important to always check to see if there are any events or holidays during your travel time because this could determine many factors on your trip.

2. The Party Barge

I wanted to do one BIG fun thing while on our trip in Nashville. There are so many options! But I went with the Party Barge https://www.nashvillepartybarge.com it's a pontoon boat on wheels! It's a private tour of Nashville that holds up to 15 people. It's BYOB (just no glass) and they provide a cooler and ice. They also provide an aux cord, so you can jam out to your favorite honky tonk songs.

10/10 recommend and ask for Captain Todd!

After all the reservations were taken care of, I went out and bought all the essentials for a perfect bachelorette party.

Games

I searched online for Bachelorette party games. I printed off:

How well do you know the Bride-to-be?

Would she rather...

and Who Am I?

I also made a scavenger hunt for Ashley to complete and a drinking game because what's a bachelorette party without one?!

Decorations

In the months leading up to the trip, I created a list on my phone of decorations that would be great for the party. A week before our trip I went to three locations for these decorations: Dollar Tree, Spencers, and Party City. Dollar Tree I picked up the little things: gift bags and candy. Next at Spencers I bought the famous weiner straws, haha! And lastly, I went to Party City for the Bachelorette themed gifts. There I found a sash, shot glasses, "team bride beads", a banner, and pink solo cups for Beer Pong.

Party Favors

I wanted to make all the girls feel special and thank them for coming on the trip. I was so excited to put these together!

I made cute little gift bags for everyone!

Here's what they looked like and all the goodies inside:

Our Trip

I made an itinerary to send out to the girls, so they had a general idea of how the weekend was going to go.

Friday

Once we arrived to the Air Bnb, we were IN LOVE with the house. It was so welcoming, clean, and stylish. We all had plenty of space and felt right at home. Our host, Dave was awesome! He checked in on us Saturday morning to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay-- which was so thoughtful.

After we got settled, unpacked, and dressed we began taking shots before dinner to get the night started. Once we were all ready to go, we walked over to Smokin' Thighs for dinner. Smokin' Thighs is an applewood smoked chicken restaurant that specializes in delicious wings, thighs, and quarters by smoking and grilling their chicken. Plus, they have the largest moonshine selection in Nashville. I ordered the chicken tacos with bacon mac n' cheese and potato salad. It was delicious! They had so many great selections on their menu. As far as the moonshine specials, I ordered the Hunch Punch also a solid choice! It tasted just like juice, hehe.

Our waitress was a sweetheart! And accommodated us well even with a big party. It was a great experience!

Next, we went back to the air bnb and played games. It was a great way to socialize and get to know each other. We shared lots of laughs! Around 9:00pm we Ubered to our first bar Tequila Cowboy. We planned on going here because their website said they have a mechanical bull... They don't. For future reference, if you are planning to go to place for something specific call ahead of time. If I learned one thing on this trip it's that places do not update their websites. Ugh. But we did find a bar that does have one two blocks down called Nashville Underground. You will find the bull on the second floor. It costs $10 to ride unless you're the bride-to-be, of course then it's free!

Saturday

Saturday morning, we were all up by 8am... Don't ask me how! because I still don't know. We must've just been so excited to explore Nash Vegas! Once everyone was ready, we drove to Acme for Brunch it's a three story restarurant. The interior design was phenomenal and great for aesthetically pleasing pictures. Each floor has different food options and it's all open seating. If you want breakfast, you must order it downstairs and take it to whichever floor you choose. The second floor is more lunch items and sushi that you can order right from your table. The third floor is the rooftop with an incredible view to enjoy your mimosas.

After brunch we went to Uncommon James, Kristin Cavallari's jewelry store. It was packed! They had very cute jewelry to choose from but their system was strange. They had each item on display and if you wanted it you had to take it to an employee and they would go to the back and get it. I assume this process is to cut back on people shoplifting. But think about it, you may never see each item in the store because someone has it in their hand or the employee has it in the back. Although, luckily Ashley did find a beautiful rose gold necklace and bracelet to wear on her wedding day! It matched beautifully with her dress!

Next, we went to check out the Parathion. It's a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was phenomenal! It's located Centennial Park. If you're interested, they also have a museum inside; it costs only $6. We passed on the museum only because we were cutting it close on time and had to head back.

On our way back we hit up Starbucks across the street from the park for some much-needed caffeine. We felt reenergized and ready to take on the rest of the evening.

At 5:00pm we ubered to our next destination, Losers Bar & Grill. This is where the meeting place is for the Party Barge. It is located right next to their sister bar, Winners Bar & Grill. On their website it says Winners serves food and the Party Barge company recommended it. So I planned for us to get there in enough time to eat then walk next door to hop on the Party Barge. Once we arrived we were able to put all our alcohol in a cooler behind Losers until our reservation for the Party Barge. This was so convenient! After we packed the cooler, we walked over to Winners to order our dinner... Now remember earlier when I said websites lie. This comes into play here as well... Long story short, their kitchen was under construction. We ordered off a small menu of 3 items, never got those items, and therefore got our money back. It was the worst experience I've ever had!

I wrote an entire review about this trash bar on Yelp here:

Please read this if you've ever considered going there, it will change your mind. After the terrible service at Winner's, we walked back over to Losers grabbed our beer and loaded the Party Barge. This is where the real fun began. Our Caption, Todd was hilarious! He assured us we would have the time of our lives and he was right! He said he would go anywhere we wanted to go, even Wendy's. And after our brutal experience at Winners we took him up on that offer. He told us he always says that... but we are the first group to ever actually take him up on it haha! It was awesome!

Imagine 10 girls and 1 guy dancing, singing, and eating Wendy's burgers in the back of a truck driving down Broadway. Sexy, right? Haha, this was seriously so much fun! We rode around for over two hours and all agreed it was our favorite part of the trip. Once our ride came to an end Todd dropped us off near Broadway. We thanked him several times for the awesome night and even captured a few selfies.

We spent the rest of the night bar hopping and dancing to live country music. It doesn't get better than that!

Sunday

Ugh, the dreaded day of going back home. We woke up, slightly hung over. We showered, packed, and cleaned up the Air Bnb. It was so nice because everyone contributed to making sure the place was spotless. So this gave me a great Air Bnb review! (Thanks ladies and Quinn!)

Overall, this was an incredible trip. There was no drama, hallelujah! Everyone was so easy going and friendly! (I would say you picked some great friends, Ash.)

We all genuinely had fun with each other and created memories that will last a lifetime. We all came to party and then left as new friends. This trip couldn't have gone more perfect.

My final tip for planning a bachelorette party... Just have fun! And most importantly make sure the Bride-to-be has fun! After all, this weekend is about her and the last wild trip with her girlfriends before she takes her vows. I'm so thankful Ashley asked me to be her Maid of Honor and I'm so happy I could plan a trip she'll always remember. I wanted my best friend to have the time of her life and she did. Mission accomplished.

Thank you to everyone who came on the trip!

You all were amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better Bach Crew to celebrate with.

Cheers to Nashville and the bride-to-be, Ashley Rose!

xo,

Dani Kaye
